However, the Government appears to be warming to the idea of relaxing the deadlines altogether given the potential costs landlords may face for older properties to bring them up to a C Rating.
“I think we should relax the pace,” Michael Gove said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph. "My own strong view is that we’re asking too much too quickly.” He continued.
We will be keeping a keen eye on developments with EPC rules, but we would urge landlords to continue to look into ways of making properties more energy efficient in light of Government carbon reduction policies.
